We are eager supporters of Book Harvest, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing children with access to books to promote literacy. In collaboration with our local Sherwin Williams store, we donate paint and labor for painting projects at locations such as the Ronald McDonald House of Durham & Wake and Habitat for Humanity of Durham. About Our Owners: Juan & Wendy Zarazua
In 2001, Juan & Wendy Zarazua and his family relocated to Durham, North Carolina with three goals in mind: to raise their family, to own their own home, and to create a successful painting business. After a remarkable journey, these two stellar entrepreneurs have achieved and surpassed their ambitious goals. They are truly an inspiration!
In their free time, Juan and his family love to visit The Museum of Life and Science, spend quality time with friends and family, read, go fishing, and travel. Juan and Wendy would also like to thank all of the friends, employees, and clients who have helped their families make their goals and dreams come true.

Zarazua did amazing work handwashing and touching up the paint on the interior and exterior of our outdoor screened in porch. It looked as if they had repainted the entire porch! They also replaced drywall and repainted a large hallway and the ceiling after water damage from a leaky roof. They painted the entire hallway and ceiling, not just the patched portions. The quote was reasonable and timely, the crew members were on time every day, extremely polite and we just had a great experience! We will be calling Zarazua again for future jobs.

The Zarazua team who power washed and painted the exterior of our home were efficient and precise. Lots of attention to detail. Great communication. Cleaned up all materials and tools at the end of each work day. Our 37 year old house looks new again. Very pleased with their work and definitely recommend them.

A-plus all around! Zarazua just finished an 8-day interior paint job of our house. This was the third time we’ve used them and they were fantastic to work with as usual. Communication was top-notch. Alexander was on site daily, answering any questions we had. A well-organized plan let us know when each room would be painted so we could prepare. Miguel’s crew was efficient, careful, friendly and took the time to clean the work site every day before leaving. Highly recommend!

Zarazua did an excellent job of painting the entire interior of our home and garage. They were very careful in protecting our flooring, fixtures, and carefully masked areas to be painted. We were very impressed with their attention to detail from prepping the work area, completing the paint job, and then cleanup. The painting crew was very friendly, courteous and professional. We had an excellent project manager, Alexander, who oversaw the project. Our communications with him were excellent. We have used other painters in the past, and by far, Zarazua stands out as the best. We highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!

We had Zarazua fix two different ceilings that had sustained drywall damage due to water leaks. While they originally thought it would take two days, the damage in other areas was more extensive so it took them twice as long, but they did their best to mitigate the dust and they did a great job cleaning up afterwards. It looks better than it did when it was brand new. This is not the first time we have used Zarazua and we would not hesitate to recommend them

We hired Zarazua to remove wallpaper in our kitchen and to paint the ceilings, walls and cabinets. I was impressed with the promptness, professionalism and friendliness of the crew and was very happy with the results. After completion of the project, a small problem was found in a small section of the paint. I call the company and the response was immediate. The problem with corrected and follow-ups were made. We absolutely loved working with everyone at Zarazua and couldn't be happier with the results! From the start, their office team (Miriam, PJ and Erick) was incredibly responsive, answering all my questions and accommodating my schedule. Our project manager, Alexander, was able to color match what we wanted and I was able to call or text him with any and all questions that we had. The professionalism that Jorge and his team displayed was evident in every aspect of their work, from meticulous prep to the final touches.They transformed our space with precision and care, using high-quality materials that made a noticeable difference.We decided to have more work done the same week and Adan and his crew put up dry wall and painted our garage so quickly with attention to detail and the same amount of professionalism and care we saw from everyone at Zarazua. Professional, skilled, consistent, punctual, and incredibly thorough! After our initial contact and estimate, we had a project manager who made himself available and was on site at least once, sometimes twice a day to check in with the crew and with us. The team that came to do the prepping and the painting was on time, friendly, and I came to think of them as the "paint ninjas" because when they finished a room everything would go back exactly as it was before except the color on the walls had changed. They took excellent care in their prepping, and the clean up was impressive and respectful to allow us to move in and around as we were all living there as this was going on. Their work looks fantastic and will last. The job took longer than we expected and this is because they addressed things that required extra time (excellent attention to detail!) as they came up. We are very happy with their work and will absolutely use them again.

We have a historic home that badly needed full lead abatement exterior paint job. We were introduced to Zarazua from our neighbors who had used them and while they said they were probably a little higher priced than others -- the price was worth it.This proved to be true! Other neighbors of ours used different companies and had major headaches. Team leader Adan and our project manager Mariam were both very friendly and worked diligently to make sure the team did everything right!When problems happen to arise (as will happen with 100+ year old home that fell into somewhat disrepair) we spoke with Mariam and she was able to fix them right Away! We couldn't be more happy with our new home color!

Zarazua was a pleasure to work with and did really good work pulling up carpet, removing wall paper, and painting our den. The project manager came by every day to check on status and address questions or concerns. He came back after the job was completed to make sure everything was done to his and our satisfaction. This is now the second time we’ve used this fantastic company to assist us with a few projects in our house. Mariam and her team are just amazing. They came out during a major storm to make sure our project was coming along. We had them build a closet, update our kitchen, and paint portions of our exterior. The craftsmanship of the closet was/is great, so good that my family actually thought their build was already apart of the house. Which is hilarious since they live here. This new closet is saving me headaches and helping me stay organized. All I said was make it look like it was always here, and they exceeding that request. My kitchen looks amazing and our front porch looks fantastic. Everyone is so nice and treated our home as if they were fixing their own/or their family members. I truly felt taken care of and will use them again and will scream and encourage other too.——Older post——-Okay, so there really isn’t enough positive things I can say about this business. The owner came to our house and just listened to our concerns and areas we wanted to improve upon and we had an estimate within 12 hours. Then we met with the project manager, Mariam, she was amazing and thoughtful. We had a large project and I’m expecting, she was considerate and clearly communicated everything in a timely manner. Last but not least, Alexander and his whole crew were beyond amazing. They were professional, paid attention to the smallest of details, and it felt like they were painting/caring for their own home. They actually fixed something that another contractor messed up without prompting. We will certainly use this business, team, and crew again. I would hug everyone if I could, they were caring and thoughtful especially during this family transition. Five glowing stars all around!

Cesar, Mariam, and Erick were all so wonderful to work with and we couldn't be happier with the results. In addition to carpentry repair, painting our house and shed studio, and adding new gutters, Cesar also pressure washed our metal roof. The end result makes our 100 year old house look new. I have begun the process of updating and renovating my childhood home and Zarazua was recommended to me by a great friend who has known the owner, Juan, for quite some time. One phone call into the office and in two days Erick was out at my property to assess the job and provide an estimate for painting the entire interior of my home. He was very thorough in looking into the details and capturing exactly what I was wanting to accomplish. He also offered wonderful suggestions when I wasn't sure on what to do. His professionalism and thoughtfulness completely sold me! My project was assigned to Miguel's team and I could not recommend them more. Miguel, Charlie, and Elmer took the best care of my house. From covering my brand new floors, to moving and wrapping furniture, to vacuuming and cleaning up as they went, every day they pulled in the driveway with smiles on their faces. Just the nicest gentleman to work with and I am TOTALLY in love with how they completed my project. If interior painting is what you are looking for...ask for this wonderful team. Mariam was my project manager, stopping by every day to check the status of the work, bring supplies to the crew if needed, and conveying my thoughts and visions to the team. Cannot recommend Zarazua Painting enough! We worked with Zarazua again to complete a siding repair project. They were meticulous in their assessment and incredibly quick in turning around quotes. They gave a very reasonable quote for the work and I can’t speak highly enough of Mariam and the entire carpentry and painting team. There is no task too big or too small for Zarazua! They have done every project in our house. Everything from bathroom remodeling, interior painting, room remodeling, cabinet refacing, floor sanding and staining, and most recently, full exterior painting and wood repair. I am telling you they do everything and their work is topnotch! If you’re looking for perfection, look no further. Mariam checked on the progress consistently and was always available should a question come up. Juan has put together crews that are true experts. The onsite team, led by Miguel, was professional, meticulous and very pleasant. Zarazua did a great job painting the exterior of our ~100 year old home. It was a big job, and other companies we tried weren’t even willing to give us a quote- we were dealing with flaking lead paint, plus lots of carpentry repairs needed. We were thrilled with the job Zarazua did on some much-needed exterior maintenance for our home! From start to finish they were efficient, professional, and super easy to work with. The crew was here for about ten days in extraordinary heat, and they were consistently cheerful, worked so quietly we sometimes couldn't tell if they were here or not, and took great care to minimize damage to the landscaping (which is no small feat here). They responded quickly to my initial request for info on exterior painting and sent someone out to do an estimate within a couple of days. I received a complete, detailed proposal of work. The painting crew did a good job and they were professional and neat. After the work was finished, a project manager came out and did a walkthrough. We identified a few areas that needed touchups and the team came out the same day to complete them. It was great to have a point person to communicate with and I was kept up to date on all details throughout the project. Would definitely work with them again.

This was our third time using Zarazua Painting. They stained and repaired our decking. The team of Felipe and Natalie were great. Felipe did excellent work replacing cracked boards and Natalie carefully covered and taped of areas before the stain. We had a very rainy May and they had to make several trips to be sure the wood was dry and then the stain could set. The office stayed in touch daily to update on how the weather was affecting the job. Eric did the original estimate and he was prompt and accurate. We will use them again

Zarazua just finished repainting (and repairing!) our house today. The house is old, and there was a lot of carpentry involved to replace rotted siding and window sills. As always, the work was done to the highest possible standards; the crew is professional in every respect. Mariam, the project manager for painting, is just exceptional; responsive, a great communicator, and showed up onsite almost every day. Zarazua Painting did a fantastic job refurbishing two bead board porch ceilings. The ceilings were dark, dirty, and moldy and didn't respond to a standard power wash. Zarazua did a chemical hand wash (amazing) which cleaned and brightened the ceilings, then a stain touch up and a clear polyurethane spray coat to seal the job. I'm very pleased and the price was more than fair for a high quality job.

Best experience with Zarazua! They were so helpful from beginning to finish with the painting of our house. Mariam was available every minute, answered all questions and came on site to discuss the projects. Eric and Miguel did a beautiful job repairing our siding and trim. Zarazua recently put a new ceiling in our downstairs bathroom and also removed and replaced a "stuck" AC unit.The team was professional and courteous, on time and did a super job cleaning up. Zarazua recently did an excellent job replacing siding and painting our home. I could not be happier with the result. The house looks beautiful and we get compliments on it everyday. Zarazua did an excellent job of staining our house, including several porches, and stained our boat dock. They also did a lot of preparation and extensive repairs. Plus they refinished some hardwood floors, rebuild several steps, and added a handrail. The team headed by Adan Andrade with Project Manager Mariam Rosales (with Erick Coello) was a pleasure to work with. Adan's team members were cheerful, talented, and hard working. Cleanup was through. We highly recommend Zarazua!

The Zarazua painting crew did an amazing job!!! The painters were ultra-professional and worked so hard. The work was fantastic, and they put everything back in order, vacuumed, and left the rooms looking fantastic. We are very, very pleased with the work. They went above and beyond.
